How should a buyer record a partially received mixed-SKU order?

Keep ordered, shipped and received quantities in separate fields. Record the shipment reference and carton identifiers for each arrival, then compare the received units with the map for that consignment. Do not report products still awaiting dispatch as missing from an arrived carton. Confirm any discrepancy with supporting records before assigning a cause.
